WHO can screw up meatballs? STEAK and STEIN CAN!!!!!! They are PORK!!
Steak and Stein in general is an all time favorite for our family. Before we had children we ate there four or five times a week. We find the appetizers and meals are a good size, you don't end up throwing half away and we are very happy with the prices. The steaks are thinner then most but we would much rather spend $10 per meal there instead of McDonald's. We will continue to eat there for as long as we can! Keep up the great work guys! )
Best place in the entire universe...Hands down! Cheap, delicious, good atmosphere, friendly service, good location, great tasting food. I grew up eating at Steak & Stein and will continue until I croak.
Always great food and friendly service.
Steak is a cheaper cut, but the charbroil gives it nice flavour, of course. Decent meal.
For the price you pay it is better to go somewhere else and spend your hard earned. You leave hungry and as I am a small eater, this to me is bad. The blooming onion is so full of grease it makes you sick. Fries are good and they do have a good breakfast. Enough said!
Steak n Stein is a long-time favourite with my family. Past experience was that 3 out of 4 visits yielded an excellent steak in terms of tenderness and flavour and 1 out of 4 would need to be sent back due to toughness. More recently , the steaks are always tender but there seems to be more tenderizer flavour present, perhaps a longer marination period is now used on each derby style steak. ( We always get Derby Del Monicos) The result is a saltier tasting steak, sometimes quite salty as compared to my memories of a year or two ago. Fries and coles slaw are consistently good tasting . Soft drink refills were free last time I visited but check this with your waiter as policies change. New customers will find SnS's steak different from what they are used to, that is , they are a smaller cut, thinnner sliced highly marinated portions. At least Derby Style is-I have never tried the alternative-Charcoal style. Surf and Turf with the breaded shrimp ( or scallops, but the shrimp is the way to go IMHO )is excellent with a good sweet chili sauce on the side.
Hot food cold cold food warm, portion of food on plate very small. I am a small eater but when you walk away hungry after eating that is bad.waiters were excellent it must be maeagement!.
